残業する前
「残業する」は work overtime や stay late at work と言います。
I have to work overtime today.
（今日は残業しなくちゃ。）
I’m afraid you have to work overtime.
（悪いんだけど、残業してもらいたいんだ。）
I’ll be home late tonight. I’m working overtime.
（今日は残業で遅くなるよ。）
I’ve got so much to do. I have to work overtime today.
（やることが山ほどある。今日は残業しないと。）
I’m willing to work late if it’s really necessary.
（本当に必要なら、遅くまで仕事するよ。）
I’m going to a baseball game tonight, so I can’t stay late at work.
（今夜は野球の試合を観に行くから、残業できないんだ。）
I can’t leave with everyone still in the office.
（まだ皆んなが残っているから帰りにくいな。）

（今日中に終わらせたくて。）
I’ve been working overtime regularly.
（ここ最近は残業ばっかりだ。）
I want to cut down on overtime.
（残業を減らしたいなぁ。）
All I do at home is just sleep these days.
（最近は家に寝に帰るだけだ。）
I had to work overtime again today.
（今日も残業だった。）
I managed to finish today without having to work overtime.
（今日は何とか残業せずに終わらせられた。）
Tomorrow I’m definitely going home on time.
（明日こそは定時で帰ろう。）
I’ll be taking the last train home, for sure.
（終電確定だな。）
・cut down on：〜を減らす、削減する
・definitely：(主張を強調して) 確かに、間違いなく
・on time：定刻で、時間通りで
・for sure：確実に
同僚を気遣う
You did 30 hours of overtime last month.
（先月は30時間も残業してるじゃない。）
I think you’ve been working too hard. Why don’t you just slow down?
（働きすぎだと思うよ。ペースを落としたらどうかな。）
Just don’t work too hard. I’m leaving now. See you tomorrow.
（あまり無理しないでね。先に帰るね。また明日。）
We are ordering out for some pizza. Do you want something?
（僕らピザとるけど、何かいる？）
・slow down：(人・物・事が、進行などを) 遅くする
・order out (for something) 出前をとる
その他の表現
He was forced to work overtime.
（彼は無理やり残業させられた。）
I worked overtime until late last night.
（昨夜は遅くまで残業した。）
We don’t get paid for overtime beyond 50 hours a month.
（月50時間を超えた分の残業代は支給されない。）
My boss asked me to work overtime just as I was about to leave.
（帰ろうとしてたちょうどその時に、ボスに残業を頼まれちゃった。）
I can get a lot of things done when there’s no one else in the office.
（オフィスに誰もいないと仕事がはかどる。→「作業などを済ませる」という意味）
Don’t forget to turn off all the lights if you’re the last person to leave.
（最後に帰る人は電気を消すのを忘れないでください。）
・be forced to do：無理やり〜させられる
・be about to：まさに〜しようとする、〜する寸前である
