和訳：彼は並外れて美しく、キメ顔はとてもパワフルで、彼が見つめた池がその美しさを水に映せなかったほどだ。

ville は 名詞や形容詞の後ろにつけて、「〜な場所、〜らしい場所」のようにその意味を強調します。ここでは Loser 「負け組、負け犬」らしいベンチだと言っています。
