お給料のこと

I wonder if I’ll get a bonus.

出張・接待

I’m going on a business trip to Boston.
（明日はボストンに出張だ。）

I’m going cycling with our clients tomorrow.
（明日は接待サイクリングだ。）

I need to keep pleasing them. I wish I didn’t have to. . .
（気を遣わなきゃいけないし。行かなくて済むならなぁ。）

仕事のこと

I can do it! Keep it up!
（私なら出来る！ その調子！）

I should focus and buckle down to my job.
（仕事に集中しよう。→「本腰を入れる」という意味）

My job is going without a hitch today.
（今日は仕事が捗るなぁ。→「障害もなく」という意味）

My desk is a mess.
（机の上がぐちゃぐちゃだ。→「散らかった状態」という意味）

Who left this paper on my desk?
（この書類を私の机に置いたのは誰？）

I’m too sleepy to concentrate.
（眠たくて集中できない。）

I have to finalize my report tomorrow.
（明日には報告書をまとめないといけない。→「仕上げる」という意味）

I have to prepare for my presentation about our new project.
（新規プロジェクトのプレゼンの準備をしなきゃ。）

I got a big contract today.
（今日は大口の契約を結べた。）

It looks like I’ll be able to fill my quota this month.
（今月はノルマを達成できそうだ。）

I will aim for top sales!
（売り上げナンバーワンを目指すぞ！）

It’s a busy period and I’m going crazy.
（繁忙期で気が狂いそうだ。）

I think the end of this month is going to be busy.
（今月末は忙しくなりそうだ。）

Being promoted just means more responsibility.
（昇進しても責任が重くなるだけだ。）

I’ll be moving to the PR department next week.
（来週から広報部に異動だ。）

Our department is chronically understaffed.
（うちの部署はずっと人手不足だわ。）

He left the decision-making to me, but then he disapproved at the last time.
（私に丸投げしておいて、最後の最後にダメ出しされた。→「意思決定」という意味）

I spent all day answering phones and didn’t get much work done today.
（今日は電話ばかりであまり仕事がはかどらなかった。→ 電話に応じるときは answer を使う）

I made a fatal mistake at work.
（仕事で致命的なミスをしてしまった。）

My computer froze again. . . I don’t have time for this.
（またパソコンがフリーズした。こんなことしてる暇ないのに。）

休暇のこと

I’ll take a long vacation next month.
（来月長期休暇を取ろうっと。）

I don’t think I’ll be able to take a summer vacation.
（夏休みは取れそうにないな。）

It looks like I’ll be able to take it easy over the New Year’s holiday.
（年末年始はゆっくりできそうだ。）

I have a lot of paid vacation days saved up, but the atmosphere was such that I felt guilty about using them.
（有給が結構たまってるけど、使える雰囲気じゃない。）

同僚のこと

I’m so glad to have co-workers I can trust.
（信頼できる同僚がいて幸せ。）

（彼女は私を差し置いて昇進した。）

（派閥争いには巻き込まれたくない。）

上司のこと

Mr. Yoshida is a boss I can look up to.
（吉田さんは尊敬できる上司だ。）

My manager is well-trusted by his people.
（部長は部下に信頼されている。）

He takes good care of people, and so he is respected by them.
（彼は面倒見が良くて皆んなから慕われている。）

My manager gave me appropriate advice.
（部長が適切なアドバイスをくれた。）

I think he’s too strict with his people.
（彼は部下に厳しすぎると思う。）

He gives his people a lot of responsibility.
（彼は部下にどんどん仕事を任せてる。→「責任・義務」という意味）

My boss always shifts responsibility to others.
（ボスはすぐに責任転嫁する。）

He left everything to me and then disapproved at the last minute.
（私に全部任せるって言ったのに、最後にダメ出しするなんて。→「賛成しない」という意味）

I‘m torn between my boss and the staff I manage.
（上司と部下との間で板挟みになっている。）

My boss took all the credit for my work.
（上司に手柄を横取りされた。）

I miss my ex-boss.
（前の上司が恋しいなぁ。）
